Whirlpool recalls Over 40,000 Jenn-Air ovens due to burn risk #Recall

Whirlpool is having a large recall on the Jenn-Air Ovens as the extendable roller rack can unexpectedly disengage when fully extended, posing a risk of burns to consumers. The recall includes single, double ovens and combination microwave/wall ovens with an extendable roller rack with handle. Wall ovens included in the recall have models numbers that begin with JJW2, JJW3 JMW2 or JMW3 and a serial number beginning with a D or F. A complete list of model and serial numbers included in this recall is on the firm’s website.

Eight consumers have been burned from incidents with the extended racks. The ovens were sold at Sears, Pacific Sales and other stores nationwide, and by wholesalers, including Ferguson Enterprises, and homebuilders from March 2012 through June 2015 for between $2,500 and $5,000. Consumers should immediately stop using the extendable roller rack and contact Whirlpool Corporation for a free in-home inspection and repair. There have been about 33,000 in the US and about 8,000 in Canada according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
