Glitter Graphics

I wanted to do some frugal ideas for Sweetest Day. There are some great deals out there so I will list those first and then go to the even more frugal Sweetest Day ideas for you.

I have to say that one of the best Sweetest Days I remember is when I had my daughters and they were little. We didn’t have a lot of money to be spending on going out. So I instead went and bought us food which I made and I remember I had to run to my mom’s house to help her with something and my creative husband had drawn a blazing fireplace on a large piece of paper and figured out how to make it look real with lights behind it. Then put a blanket in front of it with all the food on it with candle light and a bottle of wine. It was the perfect evening.

Adults can have Fun for Halloween Too!

Yes, this is me, but not at my finest as you can tell. lol I made my costume and had a great time doing it! As you can tell I have a bit of a warped sense of humor at Halloween. 🙂

However, 2 years ago I used this Costume to win a Jacuzzi Suite at one of our local hotels! We used it for our Anniversary. We had a great night out, and I got to have a great free night in a $350 suite for our anniversary as well! Not to Shabby if you ask me! Talk about a frugal Date night!

Why should all the kids have a great time and we don’t? I’m already working my warped mind on what I will be this year! I feel another Jacuzzi Suite coming on!

There are a lot of places that offer lots of freebies, prizes and cash for their Halloween Bashes. So figure out your costume and get your warped mind working in over drive and see what freebies, prizes or cash you can win!

Key is not to spend a lot to make your costume. Check your local Goodwill, Salvation army and other stores to come up with it. Dress you children up to match your Costume if you would like to so you all match for Halloween. Most of this Costume did come from the Goodwill. With the exception of the bloody Window cling that is around my “babies” head. The scabs I also got from Walmart and put on with super glue, the fake blood I got at Goodwill, The mice with fur that are glued on the dress and plastic spiders as well. I also glued sticks from outside and leaves on it so that it looked like I just came out of the ground. lol Had leaves from outside in my ratted up hair. It was just a sight to see!

My 5 minute Chocoholic Fudge Recipe

WARNING: Addictive, not my fault if you need your fudge all the time. lol Yes, I am a Chocoholic and I LOVE my chocolate! Not just any chocolate though most of the time I need my “make me feel better Fudge”! I do the occasional chocolate bars and other chocolates but I’m addicted to fudge. Shhhhh…..don’t give away my secret! lol Not that anyone who knows me doesn’t already know. 😉

Now I love all different flavors of fudge as well. So I like to mix it up on those days that I really want it so I don’t get bored. I’m not sure that could really happen but just in case. lol Now, I do it the frugal way so that it doesn’t get expensive to make. I pick everything up to make it when it’s on sale and have it on hand for those times that I want it.

You can make this even if you can’t cook!

Easy and Frugal 5 minute fudge

* 1 can evaporated milk
* Milk chocolate chips 12 oz
* Semisweet chocolate 6 oz
* 1 Ts of Vanilla

Take the chips and milk and put into a microwave bowl. Heat in the microwave for about 3 minutes and add a minute at a time till chips are almost melted stir in between as they sometimes still look like they aren’t melted but they are. Add in Vanilla and stir again. Put in a 9 X 13 pan that is greased with butter so they won’t stick. put into fridge to let set and cut in slices and enjoy! I know its a hard recipe isn’t it. lol

You can add nuts or other items at this time after the melting and adding of the vanilla.

Rocky Road Fudge-
after mixing and adding the vanilla you can add nuts and marshmellow to it then cool. HEAVEN!

Peanut Butter Fudge

* 2 cups creamy peanut butter
* 2 cups chocolate chips (1 12 oz bag)
* 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

Put the chips and peanut butter into a bowl do NOT mix. Just place in microwave. Cook for about 2 minutes then stir, add in the milk and microwave for another minute. If not completely combined when you stir then add another minute on till it does. If it’s still lumpy add more time in on the microwave till its able to be stirred. Then place in fridge to set.

Place in 8 X 8 pan for this recipe.
