There are going to be some great freebies available to Veteran’s. There are so many to Celebrate Veteran’s so I will be compiling them so they are easy to find and use. I think it’s wonderful that they honor them in such a great way. I wanted to get these posted as some you do need to make reservations so it will give you time to get them. 🙂
McCormick & Schmicks Seafood Restaurant: Veterans enjoy free meal on Sunday, November 8th
McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant is offering their fantastic food freebie to veterans on Sunday, November 8, 2009. A veteran may choose a free entree from a special menu. Reservations at McCormick and Schmick’s are highly recommended, especially for larger parties. Identification proving veteran status will need to be presented to the server and includes:
American Legion card;
A veteran’s discharge papers;
DD214 or other Veteran’s ID.
McCormick and Schmick’s food freebie for Veterans is only at participating restaurants. The list of participating restaurants is sourced below or one can use the search function on site to locate a participating restaurant.
Applebee’s: Veterans, active military get a free meal on Veteran’s Day, November 11
Applebee’s will honor America’s military members (both past and present) with a free meal. Veterans, active and retired military can receive a free meal at Applebee’s during business hours on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2009, by selecting one of these six options:
Three Cheese Chicken Penne;
Fire Pit Bacon Burger;
Fiesta Lime Chicken;
Chicken Tender Platter;
7 oz. House Sirloin; or
Oriental Chicken Salad.
Beverages and tips are not included in this fantastic Veteran’s Day freebie. Veterans and active or retired military members will need to provide proof of service to their server at Applebee’s. This can be accomplished by providing one of the following forms of identification:
Wearing military uniform;
U.S. Uniformed Services Identification Card;
U.S. Uniformed Services Retired Identification Card;
A photograph of the veteran in his or her uniform;
Current LES (Leave and Earnings Statement); or
Presenting one’s VFW/American Legion or other Veteran’s group card.
Golden Corral: Veterans, Active or Retired Military, National Guard or Reserves receive free meal on November 16, 2009 from 5 PM – 9PM
Golden Corral will host its 9th annual Military Appreciation Day on Monday, November 16, 2009. Veterans and active and retired military members can enjoy a free meal at a Golden Corral on November 16, if they dine between the hours of 5 P.M. and 9 P.M. No identification is necessary; however it would be a nice gesture to bring along identification to claim the free meal. Golden Corral offers this free meal as a “Thank You” to all who serve or have served this country, so if you are not a veteran and find yourself dining at Golden Corral on the 16th, be sure to thank all the veterans you see there.
Outback Steakhouse – Free Blooming Onion and beverage.
Krispy Kreme – One free doughnut of any variety.
Masala Wok – The Northern Virginian restaurant is offering a free entree to veterans.
UNO Chicago Grill– Free entree or individual pizza with an entree or pizza purchase of equal or greater value.
Coushatta Casino Resort – The Louisiana casino and resort is offering a free seven-clans lunch or dinner buffet to veterans or active military.
Hy-Vee supermarkets – The mid-western supermarket chain is offering a free breakfast to veterans.
Abuelo’s Mexican Food Restaurants – All veterans and active-duty military receive a free entree.
Carolina Burgers & BBQ – In Matthews, NC is offering a free meal to all service members and veterans.
Brides Across America – Provides free wedding gowns to qualified military brides.
Lowe’s & Home Depot – Extra 10% off to active-duty military members, National Guard and reserve members, retirees, honorably discharged veterans and immediate family members.
Sam’s Club – Over 25,000 Hugo canes will be given away to U.S. veterans in need of mobility assistance. Membership is not required, but supplies are limited, so check with your local store.
Amazon.com – Free “Veterans Day Honor” MP3 album download. The album includes 12 songs by The Bands and Ensembles of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Cabela’s Outdoor Store – Offers their employee discount to all veterans, active-duty military and reserves, law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel Nov. 11-12. Discounts vary from 5% to 50%, depending on the item.
Build-a-Bear Workshop – Members of the armed services including the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Reserve Officer Training Corps, will receive a 20% discount Nov. 11-15 on any one transaction at Build-A-Bear Workshop.
Dollar General – 10% discount for all veterans, active-duty military, National Guard and reserve and their immediate families.
Fashion Bug – 20% off all plus-size and misses clothing purchases with a copy of military ID or spouse’s military ID.
National parks, forests and monuments – Admission is free to everyone on Veterans Day.
Knott’s Berry Farm – Free park admission to U.S. armed forces personnel and a guest during Veteran’s Month, November 1-26.
