DirtyBird Energy Sensitive Multipack Soap Review

I received the DirtyBird Energy Sensitive Multipack Soap to review with our family. I have to say there is a great variety of soaps that are perfect for the whole family. Since several of our family have sensitive skin, we couldn’t wait to try the soaps.

The DirtyBird Energy Sensitive Multipack Soap comes with 6 bars of soap in a great reusable container that you can also use to travel with you. The Multipack comes with 2 Recovery, 2 Relax, 1 Original, and 2 Replenish bars of soap. The Replenish bar of soap is unscented, the Relax bar is Lavender scented, the Original is Peppermint scented, and the Recovery bar is Eucalyptus scented. The bars are 5.5 oz bars are a great size and easy to handle when your using them in the bath or shower.

I tried the Relax bar as I had just been feeling a little overwhelmed lately with everything on my schedule and also from us being sick so much this winter. So I could really use something relaxing to help the tension go away. So I grabbed everything and headed in to see how it would work. Now, I only have time for a shower, because as many of you know when you have kids and grandkids they are going to go and locate you and bug you the whole time. So I told everyone that they were not to knock on the door, try to get into the bathroom, or anything else till I reappeared. I went on my Merry way and of course I got as far as in the bathroom and one of the kids needed to use it. OY! However, at least it was before I was trying to get relaxed.

I got into the shower and I could just smell the lavender scent it was just like “Ahhhhh!” So I got into the shower and when the hot water hit the soap it lathered up really well and it smelled even more like Lavender in the bathroom. I have to say that I just loved the the way that the soap felt on my skin as well. It was a very silky on my skin, I also had very dry skin from this winter and it was making the dry skin feel better as well. I was actually starting to relax and I could feel even some of the stress leaving my shoulders where it sets up camp and just stays. I felt so much more relaxed and ready to take on my schedule and my family after my relaxing shower. It really was heavenly, I have been using the relax for several days now and it really just makes me so much more relaxed and ready to take on everything that comes my way.

My son who has EDS, sensitive skin and allergies to a lot of soaps used the Replenish bar. It has no scent, a nice 5.5 oz bar, and he was excited to try the soap. Since the Relax soap bar worked for me and I had have allergies to soaps as well. So he was going to go try it, so he got all of his items ready for the shower and since he has the allergies we watch his skin close after he showers to ensure he doesn’t get hives. So he went in took his shower and when he came out of the bathroom I got his report on the Replenish. He said that he loved the way it lathered up, the way his skin felt so soft after his shower and it didn’t feel tight like it normally does. He really liked the way his skin felt, the way it felt like it was moisturized, he really liked it and has been using it ever since. I think that the Replenish would be great for a Mommy to be as it hydrates the skin so well. We all know that our bodies go through changes while we are pregnant so it would be great for Mom’s to use as well.

My son also tried the Recover soap bar, he gets a lot of bumps and bruises due to his EDS so we tried the soap bar as well. He has only tried it once so far but he just loved the Eucalyptus scent of the soap. He told me that it lathered well, that it felt really nice on his skin when he used it, that it didn’t dry his skin. He is going to keep using it with the Replenish bar soap and rotating the bars. We haven’t used it long enough to know if it helps to encourage bruises, Inflamation and bumps to heal quicker. I will however, update this review once we know how it works with them.

DockATot Grand Dock Review

Dock A Tot

I received the DockATot Dock station to review for our Baby Shower Gift Guide. When it arrived I opened the box, and I have to say that I was surprised at the size, the colors of the Dock A Tot, and how soft and plush it was. I was looking forward to reviewing it for all of you.

I removed the cardboard piece that they place inside the DockATot so that I could see how much cushioning was in the Dock. The sides of the DockATot are the perfect height, to help the baby learn to sit up, be a way to have your little angel be comfortable while playing, it is also a perfect way to get your child adjusted to sleeping in a bed it works like a railing to help them sleep better and not fall out of their bed.

I have to say that I loved that the DockATot can be closed at the bottom of the DockATot so that when they are smaller it encloses them in and keeps them safe and sound while secure in the Dock. The soft, plush bottom of the Dock is so comfortable so it’s great for Tummy Time as well, so that the baby is not on the hard floor with a blanket or on a pillow that they can roll off of. It also comes in some beautiful colors like the Silver, Marble, Roses, Zebra prints, Love Links and more. So you can find the perfect color and style to match your decor or just a color that you love.

Dock A Tot1

I love the fact that the DockATot can be used to transition the toddlers
from a crib to a bed when they are ready as well. I have to say that I wish they were available when my older children were little. I had one child, that no matter what I did she would always fall with a thud and crying to the floor every night. She could have been all comfortable in the DockATot and I could have used it as the railings to keep her sleeping well through the night and protecting her from falling each night. The sides are tall enough to make them feel safe, cushioned in the sides and very comfortable as well. It really would have saved me a lot of sleepless nights due to her falling out of bed.

Dock A Tot2

I found that it is really helpful for parents with adorable little angels. These are just a few of the things that you can use the DockATot for. I could make a long list of uses for the DockATot and I’m sure you will find even more then my list of uses. I’m sure you will find it is so helpful and will make your life so much easier with your little angel with all of it’s uses.

Freezer Meals to make with leftover Ham #FreezerMeals #HamMeals #HamRecipes #Easter

ham

There are a lot of great recipes that you can make and freeze with leftover Ham from Easter. So I wanted to share some of my favorites with you.

Ham & Cheese Homemade Hot Pockets

Pizza Dough
1-2 cups chopped ham
slices of American Cheese
bag of Frozen Broccoli

Take the dough roll it out to a small circle, add some ham pieces, slice of cheese and a couple pieces of Broccoli. Then fold in half and take a fork and close the edges on both sides. Be sure not to over stuff or they will leak. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes on a greased cookie sheet. Let them cool and put them in Sandwich bags to freeze individually. Then just take one out and heat them in the Microwave till hot and serve.

Here are some more recipes that you can use as well:

Ham & Scalloped Potatoes

6 potatoes
1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 cup of Ham
1/2 cup of Milk

Clean and slice the Potatoes, You can leave the skin on or remove it, Then in a freezer bag, just throw the potatoes in and Ham, then mix in the Cream of Mushroom Soup. (Do not add the Milk to it till you cook the dinner.

Ham and Macaroni and Cheese (from the oamc digest)

8 oz. elbow macaroni
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 cups shredded cheese
2 cups cubed ham
2 cups thin white suace (recipe follows)

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cook macaroni and drain. Place half of the macaroni in and 2 qt casserole dish. Sprinkle with half the cheese. Add all of ham. Top with remaining macaroni and cheese. Pour white sauce over casserole. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.

THIN WHITE SAUCE (for macaroni and cheese)
1 Tbsp. margarine
1 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup milk

Melt butter. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Use as directed in recipe for macaroni and cheese.

Notes from a tired oamc cook (don’t know who this was!): I was tired and worn out at this point. I decided that the Ham and Macaroni and cheese would have to be a SAR (Some Assembly Required) meal. I placed three cups of cheese in a qt. size freezer — then I placed 2 cup bag another qt size freezer bag. I placed a rubber band around these and froze them. At meal time – I will use this recipe. I will stir in the ham before baking.

The following recipes are from “Dinner’s Ready” by Andrew Schloss and Ken Bookman, a “chain cooking” cookbook, where you make completely different meals out of leftovers from previous meals. These look good. Where there is a leftover used, I posted that recipe too, in case you wanted to do it their way or adapt these recipes.

Here are some more great recipes:

* Delicious Ham & Potato Soup

* Ham & Cheese Ziti

* Cheez Ham & Potato Bake

* Ham & Bean Soup

Get Those Tough Clogs Out With Roto Rooter Gel Clog Remover #ad

Roto Rooter gel

I am so excited to introduce you all to the Roto Rooter Gel Clog Remover, Roto Rooter Gel Clog Remover, Roto Rooter Septic Treatment, as well as other Roto Rooter Products that can make life so much easier for you and your home. Roto Rooter products help you when you need them most!

This video shows exactly how the Roto Rooter Gel Clog Remover works to get out all those tough clogs in your sinks. Now, if you have children, you know they think everything can go down the sink! It does not, but they believe that it should be able to. My children have clogged more sinks and toilets then I care to even think about! No, I’m not kidding, my youngest son was a pro by the time he was walking and running. He is now older but he can still clog a sink now and then. I have to tell you that it has drove me crazy over the years. I’m sure that many of you can completely relate to our household.

During those “Fun” times Roto Rooter has been a lifesaver! You just pour 1/4 of the bottle into the sink by the drain and wait about 10 minutes and when the clog goes down you can then run warm water down the drain to ensure the clog has been removed. It really has worked well on our sink clogs from the Kitchen to the Bathroom. It really has cleared out some tough clogs like when my children decide why would I want to run hot water while draining ground beef along with other fun things that they clog the sinks with. It has really made my life easier, and it works great!

When my Roto Rooter Gel Clog Remover arrived it was just in time for another clog! My grandchildren had come over and decided that the sink needed a TON of toilet paper and water to boot. So the three little stinkers left a big mess for me to clean up. Needless to say the Roto Rooter Gel Clog remover came in handy that day. I removed the excess toilet paper as much as I could of the wet toilet paper and then I poured in the 1/4 bottle of the Roto Rooter Gel Clog remover and waited the 10 minutes. I was then able to put the hot water down the drain and clean the sink the rest of the way. It really worked well on those particles of toilet paper that clogged up the drain although I’m sure there was more then just toilet paper in there because the grandchildren are always busy little stinkers. lol

roto rooter hair clog remover

The hair clogs are the worst in our house. I have long hair and my daughters and granddaughters do as well. We all have long hair, it sheds so bad with all of us because we all have very thick hair. I will spare you what our drain looks like when one of us is done showering! We love our hair being long and thick but we do not love having to watch our drain to make sure it doesn’t clog because of our hair. My hair, my daughters hair and my granddaughters hair is past the middle of our backs and longer just to give you an idea of what we are dealing with.

It has happened more then once where we have clogged the drain with our hair. So the Roto Rooter Hair Clog Remover would come in handy with unclogging the drain and getting our bathtub to be ready for the next shower. Which with our household it’s always in use and even more so in the summer. So not having to worry about the drains being clogged is a huge plus but if it gets clogged we know that we can use Roto Rooter Hair Clog Remover to save the day! There is no more worrying about what product to choose to unclog the hair clogs.

roto rooter septic treatment

If you have a Septic system you know it’s very important to keep it cleansed from bacteria and germs as well. You also want to keep the septic system clear of any debris since it goes to all your sinks, toilet and tub as well. So using the Roto Rooter Septic Treatment will help you to ensure that everything is working properly with your septic system. If you have ever had problems with your septic system you know it’s a messy and smelly not so fun time. So keeping it maintained to avoid those problems is always a great idea.

You can use Roto Rooter Septic Treatment once a month, just mark your calendar for the same day each month and it only takes a few minutes. I suggest doing it on a day on the weekend when most families have a little more time to do home maintenance. You will notice that you will have less issues when your using the Roto Rooter Septic Treatment will keep slow drains and slow flushing toilets at bay which you know is a warning sign that something is either clogging or your Septic system is getting full. It is so easy to use the Roto Rooter Septic Treatment, you just take the cap off on the side that you fill with the amount that you need for each treatment. It is so easy to squeeze and fill it to the right amount. Then just pour it into the toilet and flush. Your treatment is then complete! It really doesn’t get any easier to maintain your septic system then this! It will make the monthly maintenance so easy to keep up with when you can do it in just a few minutes!

Disclosure: We may receive free product or Monetary compensation as a part of the Ambassador program that we are taking an active role in. However, this does not mean that we will not give our honest opinion of the products and how they work in our home.

Protecting Your Chronically ill Child From Your School District #SchoolTruancy #ChronicallyIllChildren

sick-kid-in-school

What exactly does that mean? Protecting your chronically ill child from your school district? If you have a healthy child, you may be a little confused by this and ask why a chronically ill child needs protection from a school or school district. Please continue reading because even if you have a healthy child you may know someone who has a chronically ill child and this information could help them.

My youngest son, who was a healthy child when he was younger has now changed to a chronically ill child. In 2013, he was diagnosed with Ehlers Danloss Syndrome. Many of you will be saying “I have never heard of that!” Well, your not alone, I hadn’t heard of it till my son was diagnosed. It is a connective tissue disorder but can affect your vital organs, wreck havoc on your joints, muscles, stomach, and many other parts of your body. You look perfectly health at times and other times you lose all of your skin color and at times you can look like your skin has a yellow tint to it or other colors as well. There are many problems that EDS can cause in a person’s system, that they have no control over. People do not believe that it is a condition and often state that it’s all in the person’s mind and there is nothing wrong with them. That they look the same as they always have. Making it very hard for the person with EDS to have someone to talk to about everything they are going through.

There are many chronic illnesses, EDS, Potts, fibromyalgia, are just a few of these chronic illnesses. You can’t actually “see” them but they are VERY real. Children as well as adults can be affected by these chronic illnesses. They can affect their lives in a multitude of ways, most of which can not be seen by the naked eye. So it proves to be difficult for schools, family, and friends to understand what they are going through. To understand the difficulty of the health problem, why the person can not get out of bed, why they are throwing up, why they can not function on a daily basis.

In November,2015, my son started with chronic stomach pains and throwing up all the time. No reason for it, no cause that we knew of at the time, nothing would stop it from continuing. They had no idea what to give him to stop it. They tried Zofran, which made him throw up more and gave him more intense pain. If you have taken Zofran, you know it’s used to stop all of those things from happening. We tried G.I. Cocktails which relieved enough pain to make it tolerable. He had every test on him from radio active stomach tests to ultra sounds of everything under the sun. There were no answers. We continued to get so frustrated, with no answers in sight. We continued to monitor him and his Dr.’s visits were almost always a 6 month wait between each visit no matter what he had going on with him. It gradually got to where we are now, my son throws up daily, it can be up to but not limited to 10 times a day with some extreme stomach pain that would have him curled up in a ball and crying.

My son started to miss school due to his health condition. They were fully aware of his medical issues. In the 2016-2017 school year the Dr.’s sent a letter to the school stating he would be missing school and they were to be excused for the missed days. That they are working on how to treat my son’s EDS and chronic stomach issues. He was missing several days, I was getting called to the school daily for his health, it was really a never ending cycle. It also would have just been easier for me to stay at his school all day because I was getting called there all the time any ways. I was always there within 10-15 minutes of the call, as I was always dressed with shoes and all on everyday there was school. So, it was nothing new to the school, it wasn’t like it had just started there, it had just hit a peak of out of control.

The school sent me a letter saying we needed to discuss his habitual truancies from school. So I went in for the meeting and they had the principal, school councilor, truancy officers there for the meeting. For the millionth time we went over his health problems, why he is missing school and so on. The truancy officer stated that if he continued to miss school I would receive a ticket for truancy. I told them I was fine with that, that I would fight it and get it thrown out. So the truancy officers thought about what I said and decided that I would get it thrown out. Now, I should add in here, that I am a huge advocate for my son and I won’t allow them to try to push me or my son around. So as we were talking they brought up taking me and my son to court for the truancy. They were trying to scare me and it wasn’t working. I told them that they should do whatever they think that they needed to do. However, they also needed to understand that I would not be sitting by while they were doing it. That I would fight them and I would win. When I left that meeting, I had made a choice for my son before I stood up from the table at the meeting, to go to the door, to leave the school.

I went home, got on my laptop, and found my son his new online school that he would be enrolled in. I chose to enroll him into K12 after looking at all the options that were available. I put in for his enrollment before I even had to pick him up from school. I sent in all the needed information and we had a two week wait for them to enroll him in their late enrollment. We were confirmed and I stated to the school that he would be being removed from their school district very shortly. During our waiting I received court papers for my son for his truancy court. Which really had me mad, but not worried. I went and hired an attorney, got my son and attorney as well. Now, for the record these court papers were not about my son’s health. The reality of it is they were trying to come after me because they couldn’t intimidate me and get what they wanted. I told them where to go and how fast to get there, I had no problem doing it either.

I was not worried about the court trial at all, even though they were threatening to remove my son from our home. I knew I had everything that I needed and I was prepared for the battle. Meanwhile, my son started school with K12 and was doing amazing! He had class everyday and he was excelling more then he ever did in the school he was attending. No, I am not just saying that because I was upset with the school. It was a reality! His school teachers had him reading at a 2nd grade level in the brick and mortar school, he was reading at his grade level and higher with K12. K12 was way more of an intense curriculum and he was getting amazing grades! The school was holding him back all that time, I wish I had gone to K12 sooner in all honesty.

After I hired our attorney’s to represent my son’s father and I and one to represent my son. I went to work, I knew I had all my ducks in a row because I always keep everything that has to do with my son’s care. Not for this reason because I didn’t honestly think that I would need it for a court hearing. I do it for me, so I can go back if I need information for a new Dr. (Which he has 10-12 at the moment), so I could look back to try to figure out how to help with his stomach and EDS health issues. I also had his my chart account to pull his tests that he has had ran, his Dr.’s appointments, and everything and anything that I needed for his medical. They wanted a fight they were going to get one. But, I knew it wasn’t going to go anywhere. I want you to be as confident and ready to fight if you need to for your child. In all honesty, I hope that you won’t need this information but the reality of it is, you just may need it and you will need to be prepared. Some school districts do not want to work with the parents or their chronically ill child. Other schools are just amazing with working with parents and their chronically ill child. To those schools that are great with working with the parents and chronically ill children, thank you and you will never know what it means to these families to have your support!

Now, if you find yourself and your child in our shoes and either getting a truancy ticket or having to appear in court for truancy. I am going to tell you what you should provide your attorney’s with and how to get it. I found that having a fax machine got it to me and to my attorney in record time to keep us prepared. If you have not started to save these things, please do start in case you need them at some point it will take you less time to be prepared.

* My Chart ~ Has all your child’s medical information that you can print at home. From when your child had Dr.’s visits, when they were diagnosed, growth charts, health summary and so much more. There is a lot of different information there that you will need. So make sure your signed up for my chart.

* Emergency Room visits or hospital stays~ Your local hospital can print them out for you easily and have them in an envelope for you in no time.

* Phone records ~ If your getting phone calls from the school daily for your child, your phone company can get you the phone records for incoming calls and out going calls send it to you or fax it.

* Emails with school ~ Hold onto every email that you received from the school teacher’s, principal and anyone else that is with the school. Be sure you are not ignoring the emails and respond to them.

* If you changed their school~ New attendance record, how child is doing in school, grades on any tests that they have taken on them since they arrived, letter from teacher about how they are doing in their classroom.

* Disciplinary actions~ If your child has any disciplinary actions such as a referral, suspension, or any other types of discipline the attorney will need them.

* Notes home from school~ Anything that is sent home from the principal or teachers about attendance, their health, or anything in general about how they are doing in school keep.

* Letter from teacher~ A couple of months into school ask your child’s teacher to write a letter for you stating how your child is doing in their classroom, in their own words, you will want one from each teacher they have and every year. If your having to go to court for truancy the school attorney will not allow them to write them for the court trial. So better to be prepared ahead of time. Just tell the teachers it’s for you to have on file at home and you may decide to give them to your child at a later date. Which you may want to do.

All of these things listed above will be what you will need for your truancy court. Now, because I had these items above my son’s court case was dismissed. Yes, we still had to go to court but just for them to officially dismiss the case, which took us about 30 minutes. I honestly hope that you will never need all of this information but I would rather you were prepared then not. So get files and start to compile some of the information so that it won’t take you any time at all to be prepared.

Dairy Queen is teaming up with The Children’s Miracle Hospital Network to raise funds for them. Last year they raised $300,000 for the Children’s Miracle Hospital Network so they are hoping they will be able to raise more this year on their 4th annual fundraiser.

The famous cone with the iconic curl on top takes center stage on the first day of spring as the Dairy Queen® system offers up a celebratory sweet giveaway.

Participating non-mall Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill® locations across the U.S. will celebrate the Fourth Annual Free Cone Day on Tuesday, March 20, the first day of spring. Fans will enjoy a free small vanilla soft serve cone with the signature curl on top (limit one per customer while supplies last). At the same time, participating locations also will collect donations for local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®.

“Silky smooth DQ® soft serve is truly one of life’s simple pleasures. Our cone with the curl on top is one of the most recognized treats in the world and that signature curl is a DQ quality test we take tremendous pride in,” said Maria Hokanson, Executive Vice President of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). “There’s a reason DQ soft serve tastes so delicious and special. From cow to cone, dairy farmers and local operators take tremendous pride in bringing smiles to millions of fans’faces through our creamy DQ soft serve.”

For more than 30 years, the Dairy Queen system of independently owned restaurants franchised by ADQ, a Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A and BRK.B) company, has raised more than $130 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in local communities.

“We’re excited for our fourth annual Free Cone Day,” added Hokanson. “This day has become a spring tradition and a sign that warmer weather is upon us.”

Free homework Help For Your Child

parent doing word problems

There is always that one assignment that your child brings home and your looking at it
saying to yourself “OMG! What is this!” and “Does this teacher know how long it’s been since I have done this?!?!!?” Trust me your not alone! There are also many times where the kids are not aloud to bring their books home from school as well. So your sitting there thinking well how do we figure this out without a book!

I know I have been there before when my son was in the Brick and Mortar schools. It would
just drive me crazy when there was no book, very little information on the homework and your child needs help. They are looking at you like “Okay, so help me with this homework already.” and you have that blank expression and ask them to show you how the teacher explained how to do it. Which if your child is like my son looks at you and says “I don’t know how to do it, I didn’t understand what they were saying to do, so I need you to help me.” I know it’s difficult when you have very little to go on, no book, and your child can’t even explain how to do it even a little bit.

Not to worry there are some sites that will be able to help you with their homework and
help you to figure out how to show your child to do their work and understand it. Some of the new math they do can be difficult for the kids to understand as well as the adults. They do them in a way that we were not taught so we can get the answer the way that we did it but it will be marked wrong by the teacher because the child didn’t do it the way that they wanted it done. So it makes it hard and frustrating for both you and your child.

We have found some websites that can help with different subjects and teach you how to do the assignment the way the teacher is doing it. The first site is Khan Academy they have free lessons for Math, Science, History, practice SAT tests, and much more. Khan Academy is a free site to use for you and for your child. So it can be a huge help for your child to figure out how to do that assignment that they are not understanding. You can also use it in the summer as a fun refresher for your child as well on those rainy days when your hearing I’m bored! You can also use Khan Academy for many other needs for school. They have a lot of great resources.

Another great resource we have found is Just Answer Homework to get your question answered just create a free profile. Then in the chat box ask your question and in a few seconds you will have your answer to your question. They also have tutors for various subjects that can help if you need extra help. It’s really a great asset to have at your fingertips for you and your child.

We have also found that YouTube can be a good resource for some videos on how to do Math, Science, and History as well as different English questions that you have. Just search the question that you have and choose the video that works best for you and your child. We have figured out many math problems, History questions and more by using Youtube.

Winpossible has answered thousands and thousands of questions on every subject. You just type your question in the box and put your email and you will receive a answer in your email box shortly after you ask your question.

These are just a few resources that will help you with your child’s homework. There are many other great resources as well. We found an amazing tutor who is a teacher as well. We have had her with my son’s for the past 2 years. I found her on Care.com. She is just amazing with my son’s and she has figured out how each of them learns and is able to teach them so much that they were having problems retaining. I have to say that the sessions do not break the bank. The cost is very reasonable and we wouldn’t trade her for anything! We meet at our local library for the boys to have their sessions, mainly because my grandchildren are loud at home. So they have a quiet place for the boys to do their sessions with her. However, soon we will be moving them to our home because I won’t have the grandchildren all the time. So they can work in our “school room”. I love that you can interview many tutors and find one that is the perfect fit for your child. We interviewed about 15 tutors and we then picked the one we have. So it’s a very easy process, a great way to help your child, and they are very professional.
