Metastatic brain tumors, cancer that spreads from other parts of the body to the brain, are the most common types of brain tumors, occurring in 10 to 15 percent of all people with cancer. These tumors occur in about one-fourth of all cancers that spread throughout the body, and are more common than primary brain tumors.
