This salad has been one of my favorites since I was a young girl. My mom had gone in for surgery and I was staying with my Aunt. I had a Home Ec and I had to make a dish at home and the family had to grade me on it. So my Aunt and I made a Waldorf Salad for everyone to eat with dinner. I of course received an A+ on it from the family, and when I brought it into class the next day my teacher gave me an A+ as well. So of course it became one of my favorites because it tasted great, but also because of the memories it holds for me as well. I have changed the recipe since the one that I made with my Aunt but it still has that amazing taste.
