DIY Birthday Party Pinata #DIYPinata #BirthdayParty #KidsBirthdayPartyIdeas #BirthdayDecor

Tangled Pinata 2

It’s Party time! There are a lot of different piñata’s you can chose from at the stores, but they may not have the theme that your looking for. If you trying to keep a Birthday Party cost down, this is a great way to help keep them down. There are always so many reasons that we want to make our own projects. I wanted to show you how to make your own DIY pinata for any party or event that you have coming up. You could also make one of them for the holidays, and do more of a theme around.

Materials:

* 8 Purple Sheets Of Tissue Paper

* 8 Pink Sheets Of Tissue Paper

* 1 Cardboard Box with the dimensions that you would like, you don’t want the height of the box over 7″ for a birthday party, It’s the perfect height. The width you will want to measure with the object you will be using as the focal point. You do not want a really thick box or a really thin box, other wise the kids won’t be able to break it or it will break right away and crush the candy when hit. A regular cardboard box without double layers will work well. (No shiny sides as the glue doesn’t stick as well)

* Clear Packing Tape

* Elmers Glue

* For the character or theme of the party you can use a Matching Plate that you will use at the party or you can use a helium balloon with the character on it that is not blown up

Steps for making your Pinata:

Step 1: You will want to cut 4 sheets of each colored tissue paper for your pinata. You will unfold the 4 sheets, then take 2 sheets at a time, and cut them 1 1/2 to 2 inch strips. When you have cut all the strips, you will then cut half cuts into the strip to make the strips into the fringe like look for the pinata.

Step 2: You will want to figure out which way you would like your pinata to hang. Then put two holes for your thick twine or yarn to hold the rope that you will use to pull the pinata so that the children can hit it. You will put two holes on each side and string it through and tie it so that it’s strong enough to support the rope. Once you have your twine or yarn in place then use the Packing tape to close the flaps on your box.

Step 3: Cut a slit into the side of the box, you will want to make 2 more slits so that you have a part of the box that will lift up so you can stuff the candy inside. Just like is shown below. You will want to make the slit at the top of your cardboard box.
It will not matter if your going to make a square or triangle pinata. You will still go through the same steps and just put the pinata the way you want it when your finished. You will do the front and back of your pinata first.

box slit 1

Step 4: You will start with any corner that you want in the front of your Pinata. Take one of your strips, hold it up to the box and cut it where it will only over lap the sides a little bit then cut it there. You will add Elmer’s glue to the strip where the slits are not at. Then apply it to your box at the tip of the corner as shown. Then continue to rotate the colors till your 1/4 of the way down as shown.

corner of box for pinata

Step 5: Then move to the next corner and repeat till you have all the corners complete. Don’t worry if you go into the sides of the pinata we will fix those later. You can use your Plate or Balloon as a guide to see how far down you would like to go down for your corners. Once your corners are complete you will go to the open areas between your corners and again fill in the area rotating colors so that you cover all the areas. Leave the area where your Balloon or Plate will go blank for now.

pinata corners amomsparadise

Step 6: When you start on the back of your Pinata, you will start on the top and just keep rotating the colors all the way to the bottom of the pinata. The Longer areas you will need to use a strip and a 1/2 to 2 strips to cover the area using the same colors.

Step 7: You will now work on the sides of your pinata. If you have over lapped your strips on the side. They will be dry now. So you can lift them up a little and cut off the excess so that you can fill in the sides of the pinata and they will lay flat.

Step 8: You will want to start on the side where your slit is for the candy to go in the pinata. Start to rotate your strips on the side away from you. When you are to your slit you will use smaller strips in front of the slit then cut strips that will cover the opening and give it room to move up and down. so before you glue your first one on. Hold it tight onto the opening and make sure it won’t break when your opening and closing your opening. If it does break then use a little longer piece. To save you time use that piece as a template for the rest of your strips so you won’t have to measure each strip. Then glue the strips with rotating colors.

Step 9: You will now finish the other sides of your pinata in the same way that you did the side with the slit. Your pinata is now complete with all your strips.

Step 10: If your using a helium balloon you will cut the balloon to use in the middle of your pinata and just use the top character part of the balloon to add to your pinata. If your using a Plate that matches your theme you won’t need to cut it at all. You will now add glue around the outer edge and center of the object you are using. Then put it into place and smooth it out.

Tangled Pinata 2

Step 11: This is the last step for completing your pinata. If you have space around your balloon or plate that is showing your cardboard box then rotate strips to fill them in. Once this step is complete, you will want to take strips to cover the edges of your plate or balloon. Take your strip and measure around the outer edge. You can use smaller strips if it’s easier for you, and then go all the way around the outer edge. You will want to use the light color as the first layer around the edge and then cover the light color with a darker color so that the glue won’t show. Your pinata is now complete, it’s ready for your party! Just fill with candy once it is completely dry, use the packing tape to close the slit and your ready for the kids to have a great time with their pinata!

As many of you know, my daughter just blessed me with a new granddaughter this summer. I was so excited about making her a book all about her, when she was born and a lot of interesting facts about the day she was born. I thought it would make the perfect gift for my little princess as well as something that she could look back on when she is older and know more about the day she was born.

Little Book Of You Baby Book is a beautifully illustrated book. They have the most adorable characters throughout the whole book that your child as well as you will just fall in love with. It has so many great facts included in the book like how much gas, milk, bread and other things cost on the day they were born. Interesting facts about the state they lived when they were born, who was at the hospital when they were born, who their family members are from Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and more. They get so much information about the day they were born that it will answer all their questions about that special day and they will just love learning all about them.

I showed it to my daughter and she just cried she loved it so much. She now wants one for her other daughter as well. I’m actually planning on getting one for each of my kids and grandkids because they are so cute and make a great keepsake for them. I make many keepsakes for them and have them in a box for each of them. They will receive them at a certain point for them to go through. Till then I keep adding to the boxes for them to have more keepsakes. It will be a wonderful surprise for them to read about the day they were born and what was going on in the world, who was there at their births, and so much information about the day they were born. They will have The Little Book to show their children and compare their books to see all the differences from when each of them were born.

I also love that we can keep passing them down in the family and they can be viewed by all the future generations as well. It can help them to know more about their family and who their family members were and who they are related to. This is the perfect book for any baby that is going to be a new little bundle of joy or for your children you have now. Give them the perfect keepsake for them to have and show their children and their children’s children. A Book that you can keep passing down through the family so that they know where they have come from and who they are. The beautiful illustrations, all the information throughout the book can show them how times keep changing but family always has a part in their lives.

Skinnies Seamless Skinwear Shirt Review #Christmas Gift Guide

skinnies shirt

I can not tell you how excited I was to receive the Skinnies Seamless Skinwear Shirt to try with my son. Now, I must explain why I was so excited. My son has EDS which makes his skin split and bleed and it also makes materials on his skin feel like it’s on fire, he has sensory issues as well so he will only wear certain materials which makes shopping for him a whole new experience for us both. We normally, if we are lucky walk out with 1 item for him out of hours of shopping.

So when the Skinnies Seamless Skinwear Shirt arrived I was hopeful that he would be able to wear different clothing with it and protect his skin at the same time. I had high hopes for the shirt improving his daily life and his health needs as well. When I took it out of the box, my son looked at the shirt and looked at me and made a face. Until I told him to feel it, he grabbed it and started to rub it on his face, he loved the feel of it. It was so soft, he was so excited to put it on. When he did he was instantly in love with it. It soothed his skin, it was soft and he was didn’t want to take it off. You have no idea as a mom of a son who normally fights with me about EVERYTHING that touches his body to find something that he would wear and use under other clothes to be able to have more clothing options available for him.

baby skinnies

This is seriously HUGE for my son to say that he will try to wear other clothes over it now. We of course are still watching what we purchase but I had him try a shirt on that normally bugged him over the top of his Skinnies long sleeve shirt protected his skin and he was thrilled because he loved the shirt he wore over the top of it but because of his skin he couldn’t wear it. I have not seen that big of a smile on my son in a while! We will be buying several more of the Skinnies shirts in long and short sleeves, I will also be purchasing the Skinnies pants for him as well because he has a jeans issue as well. This has been a game changer for my son. He will be able to wear the styles he likes and not have to worry about his skin feeling like it’s on fire, that he has to wear just certain clothing and that is it. He said that wearing Skinnies makes him feel like he can be “normal” like other people and wear what he wants, when he wants. He has never had that so he is so excited! They have a great selection of Skinnies clothing that will be great for the whole family!

Spaghetti Squash With Meat Sauce Recipe #FallRecipes #Recipe #SpaghettiSquash #Squash

Spagh squash with meat sauce

There are so many possible variations with this dish to make it fit your families needs. You could use vegan crumbles, ground turkey, or ground beef to make this meal for your family depending on your dietary needs. Now I had not made the Spaghetti squash before for my family and now I’m wondering what took me so long! We will be making it a lot more often, as it’s just delicious. If your lacking Potassium this is the perfect way to also keep your potassium levels where they need to be in a delicious way.

I also learned a few tips that I want to share with you when you make the Spaghetti squash. After your done baking it, I found that if you squeeze the water out of the squash it makes a better presentation on the plate. If you do not it comes out a little watery, so this helps with making a great presentation on the plate.

Ingredients:

1 Large Spaghetti Squash
1 lb of ground beef
1 Green Pepper
1- 14.9 oz can Red Gold Diced Tomatoes
1/4 cup onion diced
1- 32 Oz can Tomatoes sauce
1 tsp Parsley flakes
1 tsp Basil
1 tsp ground Sage
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp sugar
Parmesan Cheese for the topping

* Preheat oven to 350 degrees

* You will want to brown your ground beef with onion and green pepper, be sure to drain it and run a little hot water over the top to get added grease off so that your sauce doesn’t have the dreaded extra grease in your sauce.

* Cut the Spaghetti Squash in half, place in a baking pan with 1 cup of water in the bottom of the pan.

* Place in the oven and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, just until the fork goes into the squash easily, while the squash is in the oven, you will make your sauce.

* Use a fork to make the strings of squash spaghetti and place it on a platter.

Sauce:

* Once you have drained your ground beef return it to the skillet and add in your other ingredients except for the Sugar and Parmesan Cheese. Let it simmer for 20-30 minutes while your squash is cooking so they will be finished at the same time.

Place the squash noodles down on the platter and then top with your sauce. Just before serving sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Five Unique Items to Put on Your Baby Shower Registry

Baby Shower

Congrats! You’ve got a beautiful bundle of joy on the way. You may have already taken a look at our ultimate Baby Shower Gift Guide, which is a great place to start when looking for ideas on what to add to your registry. Perhaps you’ve even already gotten to work on your baby nursery, and hired a professional painter from Teaberry or another local painting service to help create a beautiful mural or color scheme.

As you know, having a baby on the way requires plenty of planning and preparation. Your baby shower registry can help you streamline many of your current and future tasks. The following is a list of unique items that you may not have thought of, and aren’t on many roundups when it comes to baby shower registry lists. Of course, you want to have all your baby must-haves, which include everything from bibs to a car seat. But it’s always fun to throw in a few key items that are less traditional for your list. Here are five unique items to add:

Fashionable Foam Tiles
You may have already heard of foam tiles, and they’re pretty popular in the world of parenting. These foam play mats are the perfect place for your little one to have fun and grow without hurting themselves. And in a world where wooden floors are the trendy norm, foam tiles are the perfect cushiony alternative. They can be placed and removed easily, and thanks to their versatility, can be taken anywhere in the home, and even to other locations.

Fortunately, you don’t have to invest in the classic multi-colored puzzle piece foam mats that are most popular. There are plenty of modern foam mats that come in fashionable forms. Little Nomad is one of the most popular companies in this field. The company appeared on Shark Tank, and has a tagline, “The most beautiful play foam mats ever—plus play space decor for style-minded mamas.” Choose from a wide variety of play mats that look more like chic carpets than play space for your children.

BabyLit Board Books
It’s never too soon to jump start your infant’s love for literature, so why not start by reading them some childproofed versions of your favorite English classics? The company BabyLit provides beautifully illustrated books that are familiar to parents. These include titles like “Don Quixote”, “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” and “Pride and Prejudice.” You can find many of the BabyLit books on Amazon.

Toy & Clothes Subscription Service
A subscription service gift is essentially the gift that keeps on giving. Why not put a year’s subscription box on your registry? Fortunately, there are plenty of cool subscription boxes for kids and babies. For instance, Milestones ABC sends out quarterly boxes that are filled with educational toys, clothes, and books for newborns to kids age 10. Then there’s Mac & Mia, a subscription box that sends out fashionable baby clothes for busy moms who don’t always have the time to shop for trendy new baby clothes.

Bath Thermometer
A bath thermometer may not be the first product that comes to mind when creating your baby shower registry, but it’s incredibly useful. Without it, you’ll continuously have to test the water with your hands, going back and forth between the cold and hot water settings, seeking the perfect water that’s “just right” for your little one.

A bath thermometer eliminates the guesswork. The perfect baby bath water temperature is the same as body temperature, and a thermometer ensures you get it right time after time. Check out this list of best baby bath thermometers.

Baby Food Maker
If you’re a health conscious mom who wants the best natural food for their kiddos, a baby food maker is a great option for your registry. Though there are many to choose from (you should do your own research to see which you’ll enjoy the most, and read plenty of reviews), they all perform the same basic functions, which allow parents to turn fruits and vegetables into natural drinks and foods for their infants and toddlers.

Not only is making your own baby food healthy, but economical and easy as well. You’ll save money by skipping out on store-bought jars and pouches, and feel much more confident about the food that goes into your child’s mouth. Some products, like Beaba Babycook, is designed to be easy to use with just one hand, allowing you to multitask seamlessly with your baby still in your arms. Other products, like the Baby Bullet, also come equipped with plenty of complementary accessories, like storage cups and tray.
