Collage.Com Photo Blanket Review And Blanket Giveaway Exp: 11/15 #ChristmasGiftGuide

mom's Blanket

I received a Plush Photo Blanket to review. All opinions of this review are my families and my own. When it arrived I couldn’t wait to open it. I chose photos of our family that I just cherish and wanted to add them to a blanket so that it’s able to be cuddled with and have all the family on it to view as many of them live further away from us. So I thought it would be perfect to have for me.

When the blanket arrived I couldn’t wait to open it like I said. So I opened the package and pulled out this beautiful blanket and the photos look just perfect! I love the way they were arranged and everyone fit on the blanket perfectly. Now, I hope you didn’t think that I had to arrange the photos on the blanket because I didn’t. I just put in the photos that I wanted to use and the Collage.com website did all that work for me. They arranged all the photos just perfectly. As you can see from the photo of my blanket that I made. I just choose the photos and then clicked on the use all photos and it arranged them so that they would all fit perfectly. The best part was that if I didn’t like how they were arranged, I could click on the “shuffle” button and it would move the photos around so I was not stuck with it if I didn’t like it.

The site was so easy to use, so easy to choose the photos that I wanted to use. Even someone who doesn’t do a lot of online shopping can figure out their easy to use website. They take all the guess work out of how to make it and get the perfect blanket made. Although blankets are not all that they offer. You can also choose Canvas photos, Photo books, beach towels, calendars and so much more! They all would make great gifts for any occasion, from Anniversary to the Holidays. You really can not go wrong with a personalized gift. The receiver will really love it and cherish it.

I have been using my blanket everyday as it’s really gotten chilly here. It’s only going to get colder as well, it’s apart of Wisconsin and how it is here. So it’s always perfect to sit cuddled up with hot chocolate and a warm blanket. Now, I can enjoy a hot chocolate with lots of mini marshmellows, with my comfy blanket and a good book and just let winter winds blow outside while I am comfy in the house.

Robotlab Game Review

Robotlab

I received the Robotlab Card Game to review with my family. All opinions are those of myself and my family. We have played the Robotlab and have shared our views on the game with you.

If your looking for a stem game for your child, then Robotlab would be a fun game to add for your child to learn some great Science with. The goal is to get your robot made first before the other players. However, do not think it’s going to be so easy as players can sabotage your robot by removing parts, adding different colored parts to your robot and stopping you from adding parts as well. So players from Age 6 and up can play to try to get their robot built first.

When you start the game the first player chooses 3 cards and the next player (If your playing with 2 people) choose 5 cards. Then you start to assemble your robot on your turn. You will need to add the head, legs and arms to the robot to win. You need to add your colored parts to your robot but beware because others can add their colored parts to your robot and then you will have to get a action card that states you can remove that part and continue to build your robot. So the game does get interesting and the kids get so excited when they are close to winning.

The kids had a great time trying to get their robots built first. They were able to grasp the concept of the game and play along with the older kids. They were also able to figure out which sabotage cards to use to stop others from winning the game as well. They were playing and doing really well. I even had my 3 year old granddaughter playing but we took out the sabotage cards and played a little different so that she was able to play as well because she didn’t want to just help me play. So her and I played a game by ourselves and she loved having that one on one time and building robots with me.

The teens played as well with the little ones, the older kids liked to play with the younger kids but they thought it was to young of a game for them to play by themselves. It would make a great stem game for the holiday season as a gift. You can order Robotlab on Amazon and receive it for Christmas still!

DIY Personalize Stuffed Animals Yourself #DIY #Gifts #DIYGift #ChristmasGift

Ivan puppy 1

I wanted to make some special gifts for my children and grandchildren that were personalized for Valentine’s Day. So I really gave it some thought on what I wanted to make them and how I wanted to personalize them. I found some great deals on these adorable Teddy Bears and Dogs at Walmart for only $2.99 each but I wanted to have each of the children’s names on them. So when they are together there is no fighting over this one is MINE! I made 6 of these adorable stuffed animals, two dogs in different colors, two Bears in different colors, and then two apes in different colors. The Apes came from Dollar Tree, and they were the ones my son’s wanted.

boys apes 1

I only needed a few things to personalize these adorable little critters. I purchased Heat Transfer Vinyl in Red at my local JoAnn Fabrics for $7.99 and of course my stuffed animals for $1 to $2.99. I also purchased a small pair of sewing scissors at Dollar General for $2 and a letter Stencil’s (for tracing the letters needed) for $1.99 at Hobby Lobby. You will also need a ruler and a sharpened pencil.

stencil for stuffed animals 1

Once you have your materials that are needed for this project, your ready to begin. You will need good lightening when your working on your lettering for the stuffed animals. So be sure that your in a well lighted room or working on them with the sunlight to make it easier as your working with a stencil will small letters. The stencil letters are between a 1/2″ to an 1″ tall that you will be cutting out. So you will want to be sure that you are cutting the lines correctly. Small Animals (7 inches) will hold 5 letters, Medium sized animals (12 inch) will hold 6-7 letters, and so on.

Step 1: Place your Heat Transfer Vinyl on a table or hard surface. Place the stencil down on the Vinyl with the first letter you would like to trace, trace your first letter. You will want to leave a space between letters. Continue to trace more letters till you have the whole name done.

Step 2: You will now want to cut out each letter into a small box with your little scissors so you will not waste your vinyl. Then cut along the outer edge of your letter. The letter will have the lines where they should be separated in the center of the letters for letters like A, B, D, P, R, and so on. Do not separate the letters keep them together as one letter.

Step 3: Now once you have cut out the outer edge of your letter. You will now cut out the center of your letters such as the A, B, D, O and so on. You will want to fold the letter in half but do not crease the letter just loosely hold it. Take your small scissors and cut a slit into the vinyl. Then again follow the lines that you traced to finish cutting out your letters.

Step 4: Continue to cut out all your letters and then get out your clothing Iron.

Step 5: If your animal has longer fur on it. You will want to trim the long fur where you want to place the lettering. So if your placing it on the stomach you will trim the fur down there only and only where your going to place the letters not the whole stomach. So it will just be a strip in the middle of the animal, you can use your ruler to measure your letters and then measure the stomach to that size and trim.

Step 6: Now that you have your letters, your stuffed animal, and your clothing iron your ready to start personalizing your animal. You will now use your ruler to place the letters onto your animal. You will want to make sure they are in a perfect line and centered.

Step 7: You will want to set your iron on Cotton and do not use steam. You will place your letters on all at once or one at a time. If it’s your first animal, I do suggest one letter at a time. It helps to avoid the letters shifting. You will place your iron on the letter or letters for 20 to 25 seconds. If you do the letters all at one time, you will put the iron on them for 25 seconds or 25 seconds per letter.

Step 8: Once your letters have been secured and you have gone over it a couple of times with the iron to make sure all the letters are secure. (You can place the iron on a couple of times for 25 seconds each). You will want to fluff the fur up again around the lettering. It will cover any little errors as well.

Your personalized stuffed animal is now complete and ready for it’s new owner. They will love their name on their new friend. There will be no fighting over it as their name is right on it so it’s perfect for siblings as well. Be creative and have fun while your creating these adorable little critters.

Mr. Bucket Game Review #ChristmasGiftGuide

Mr. Bucket Game

I received the Mr. Bucket Game to review with my kids. We took the Mr. Bucket out of the box and put it together. He is a little creepy without his eyes in place so I would put the Mr. Bucket together before showing the kids. There is a little assembly required with putting his eyes, hands and handle onto the Mr. Bucket. Then you put in your batteries to make him come to life. The batteries are not included.

Once I had Mr. Bucket all put together, I explained to the kiddos how we play the game. There were 4 of us so we all had our own colored balls and shovels that we use to scoop up our own colored balls with. We tested out Mr. Bucket to see how it would work before we started to play. I handed the kids each their shovels so that we were ready to play the game. The kids were having so much fun chasing around Mr. Bucket and having them throw their balls out and they had to chase them to get them back into the bucket. When they got all their balls in they had to grab the handle and pick up Mr. Bucket to win the game.

We played the game both inside and outside. The kids were just having so much fun that they continued to play all day and night with the Mr. Bucket. They each took turns playing and winning. They were laughing so hard that you couldn’t help but laugh with them. They were running around and wearing themselves out as well, which I have to say that I loved as well. lol The game was so easy that even my 2 year old grandson played the game with them.

Mr. Bucket would be the perfect game to keep the kids moving and having fun this winter. A Fun family game night that everyone will enjoy. I even had fun playing the game with the kiddos over and over again. It was just a blast to play with them and we just kept laughing the whole time. It would also make a great gift for a birthday or holiday as well. They will love it and play with it all the time! You can purchase Mr. Bucket at all your favorite stores as well as on Amazon. Let your children have a great time and they will be tired at the end of the night from having so much fun! What more could a parent ask for???

Candy Cane Holiday Bread Recipe

candy cane bread

My mother use to make these Candy Cane Holiday Bread for those on her Christmas list. She would make dozens of them and give them to everyone and they were a huge hit with everyone. Every year she had requests for a new Candy Cane Holiday Bread as they just loved them so it was a Christmas tradition that she would make them for everyone for their gifts. They are great for your Christmas dinner or when you just want something a little sweet. The recipe makes 3 Candy Cane Holiday Bread that would be perfect to share.

They would make a great holiday treat for friends and family. They would appreciate all your hard work in the kitchen making these beautiful breads. They would also be the perfect addition to any holiday table as well. You could have plenty to share with everyone who visits. Let’s not forget that the homeless shelters will need foods that they can serve to those who are homeless this holiday season. It’s a great way to bring some joy into someone else’s life with a little loving from the oven.

Guardian Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Card Game Review #ChristmasGiftGuide

Guardian of the Galaxy vol 2

I received the Guardian of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Card Game to review with my son’s. Now, I have to say that my son’s are Huge Guardians of the Galaxy fans. They loved both movies and Baby Groot is one of my favorites as well. I mean what’s not to love about Rocket and Groot! We loved both movies and have watched them over and over again. We are hoping there will be another one coming out as well.

We shuffled the cards so we were ready to play the game. You want to avoid getting the lowest point cards in the game. If you get a lower card value you can pass it on to another player. If you have a lower card value you will lose a battery pack. You want to make sure your cassette player is full of batteries. You also have the mix cards that will increase your score or you can take other players scores down with them as well. There are also Character cards like Rocket, Groot, and other characters as well that come with their own powers. You also have events cards as well. They will bring you to new rules of the game as you play. The lower card may lose or win a battery pack with an events card or they may have something else that may help you or help another player in the game.

The kids were having such a great time playing the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 card game. They were learning so much about the movie as well as the game at the same time. We kept playing the game and there were new twists that kept the boys wanting to play more and more. There really was nothing about the game that they didn’t like. They really loved all the different events, Characters, and they had so much fun playing. They each had a character that they wanted to be. They were so excited about playing the game.

There cousins came over and they set up the game to play with them. They are also huge Guardians of the Galaxy Fans so they were all excited. They played the game and raved about how much fun the game was and what the event cards gave them. They just had so much fun that they told my cousin that they had to get the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 card game as well. They were so cute as they were playing together, it really kept their interest, it brought them back to the movie with some of the cards that are in the game.

You can purchase the game on Amazon as well as your favorite stores as well. It’s great for any Guardians of the Galaxy fans, a Birthday or Holiday gift as well.

How to make Christmas candy cane bath salts #BathSalt #ChristmasGift

candy-cane-bath-salts

I know that many are making their own Christmas gifts this holiday season and this is just too cute! You can make your own Christmas candy cane bath salts,
The Person you give them to will love the pampering.

You can get some of the ingredients at Dollar tree to keep the costs down. They offer the jars at Dollar tree and be sure to pick up the vinyl book covers in the back to school section to make your labels for the jars. You should be able to find some small wooden spoons that you can attach to the jar for the person who is receiving them to use so they can measure out how much to add to their bath. There are so many cute things at Dollar Tree that you could use to make an amazing gift. Don’t forget a small basket to put the bath salts in if you would like to make them look like they came from the store.

You could also make some other beauty pampering items to make little gift baskets that they are sure to love. I know we still have a lot of time before Christmas but I like to add some things early for those who like to get a head start on their gift making. I have already started to make gifts for some people on my list so that I’m not rushing around like a mad woman at the last minute.

Turnspell Game Review And Game Prize Pack Giveaway Exp 12/12 #Christmas

turnspell game1

I received the Turnspell Game to review. We love to play games that are educational but still have fun spins to the game. We set up Turnspell and we were ready to play. The boys were pretty excited to play as they thought it was going to be an easy game to play as far as you make 4 letter words for the game but they didn’t realize there were some different twists in the game.

Turnspell can be played by 2 to 4 players, it’s for ages 10 and up. Turnspell is made by Mattel, and they have a lot of great games that we have featured in our reviews as well as our Christmas gift guide this Holiday Season. The players will add up the points on the letter tiles just like on the game Scrabble. When a player reaches 44 points they are the winner of the game. Now, if you do not have the letters to make a word you can lose 5 points, exchange a letter and get a new letter from the letter pouch so that you can create a word. As you make words you add up the points on the tiles to get you to the 44 points. If your board fills up you can remove a word and place it back into the letter pouch without losing points.

The boys and I were having a great time playing Turnspell, it’s a little different then other games. You choose letters and place them on the other players boards. All the players play at the same time as well, you do not take turns. However, I really liked that it was 4 letter words so that everyone is playing on the same playing field. So that children and adults can play the game and it can be anyone that wins. So the boys really liked that anyone could win the game. That it wasn’t to hard for them to play and it really worked on their spelling words as well as their math at the same time due to having to add the tiles to reach the 44 points to win the game.

We played the game together and the boys were having so much fun making words and counting the tiles. My older son won the first game and they wanted to play again. We continued to play and we all won a game. It was so much fun for us all to play Turnspell. It is different then scrabble as you make smaller words, the boards are smaller, and you place tiles on the other players boards instead of your own. However, we really liked the different twists of the game. It would make a great gift for any child that loves to play games or you would like to work on their ability to spell words. They can learn how to in a fun way.
