2 Types Of A Mommy Bloggers That You May Want To Try To Avoid Being

Okay, I know what your saying, what only 2 types that we want to avoid? Yes, I realize there are more then the 2 but I’m focusing on these 2 at the moment. Mainly because there are a number of conferences coming up and I hope it will help some of the bloggers that have not attended before. Even if your not attending a conference, it’s something that you may want to be aware of.

The entitled blogger, is someone that you would NOT want to be. This blogger thinks that they are perfect for a Blogging trip, Blogger Op, or another event and when they are not chosen they have a tendency to look like the picture below. They get upset when they are not chosen and email the Rep or company and tell them what a big mistake they made not choosing them!

Before you start to burn up your keyboard in a hot flame of “What were they thinking!”, breath for a moment and calm down. You may have thought that you were PERFECT for the op, trip or whatever it might have been.

However, they may have had limited spots and could not fit you in. They may have a bigger event that they have you in mind for, that would be an even better fit for you but have not said so as of yet. If you email them and start to tell them why, you would have been perfect and they blew their chance. You can pretty much guarantee that you have just blew any hope of being in any future events that they may have. Don’t be the entitled Blogger! Companies and Reps know what they are looking for and what they want, if you do not get this event that’s okay! There will be others, you will have your shot at the events and be noticed. Do not burn bridges that could lead to great events and ops in the future! You also do not want to be this blogger at conferences, trust that companies have eyes and ears everywhere!

The suck up Blogger, is another blogger that you do not want to become. Okay, in all honestly we all do some sucking up to PR Reps as well as to companies. HOWEVER, there is sucking up and then there is SUCKING UP! If your not sure of the difference, let me explain it to you.

There is the occasional sucking up that we do when there is something that we want as far as an event, trip or op, there is always a little give and take involved. However, if your not sure where your lips start and their rear starts your over the top and you may want to rethink your logic!

The blogging trips are mainly where the SUCKING UP is going on. If your paying any kind of attention at all to who is going on trips you will figure it out on your own. However, do not fall into this trap, there are some amazing trips and getting to see and meet fabulous stars but in all reality is it really worth your integrity???? Most bloggers would say no, but there are those that are okay with sucking up just so they can attend.

Have I attended one of these trips? The answer is no, I have not gone on one of these trips. Am I jealous of the bloggers that have gone? Not at all! I love following those who are attending, seeing what they are doing and cheering them on. In all honesty, I do not even try for these trips! Unless I could pack up 5 people in my suit case and bring them with me, I can not attend. I’m first and foremost a care giver and so at this time a trip by myself is not in the cards. Heck, my son just had his tonsils out and we had to stay in the hospital over night and to find someone to take on the rest of my responsibilities for just one day was all I could handle, I couldn’t imagine trying for 3 days so I could attend!

In the real scheme of the blogging world, hard work will pay off better then being one of these two types of bloggers. These types of bloggers are a pitfall that you do not want to get started on. Soon you lose your integrity, respect of fellow bloggers, and in reality your not earning your goals. Your sliding further and further away from who you really are and is it really worth the loss for a trip or event to attend? It’s an easy question for me to answer, the answer is no! However, some may choose to go down that road because of the bright lights, the plane rides, and the glamour. I choose not to lose myself or who I am on those paths, even if I could attend the events I would still choose the high road to get there.

Facebook Changes Are They Good For Everyone? #Facebook #Brands #Bloggers #Companies

fcebook thumb down photo facebook-thumbs-down.jpg

Facebook has made a lot of changes since they have started, some good and some bad. However, in the past year the social media site has really added some new twists to their sites that I’m not sure everyone is giving a thumb up to….this would include for you, companies, bloggers and everyone who uses their social media.

As an everyday user of Facebook, I have found that all my favorite pages that I love to follow are no longer in my feed! Psst….In case your wondering…those would be the companies that I post about on a regular basis and purchase from as well. So now I either have to go on a search for them or purchase from somewhere that IS in my facebook feed or I go through and search for the deal that I want which means you are more then likely not getting my business even though your now paying a “sponsored” fee for me to see your status updates on Facebook! I don’t see a LOT of my friends status’s as well….I know they are there but if I want to know how they are doing I have to go to their page. I have to say NOT a fan! There was the occasional time that I would have to do that over a year ago but it’s a regular daily thing now. Epic Fail! When you have over 500 friends on your facebook page who wants to spend the whole day seeing if what is going on with your friends list…There are those of course that your not so worried about but still!

As a Blogger with many other bloggers, we have spent a lot of time, money and effort to figure out how to make sure our followers can see our posts. Which means we jump through more hoops in a day then Tigers that jump through them at your favorite circus! There is always a new challenge to make sure that you can see our great deals, coupons, recipes, helpful tips, and so much more that help you on a daily basis.

When we win the lottery we will take part in Facebook’s Sponsored status’s but I wouldn’t hold your breath on that being any day soon! Our readers are not just someone in a computer, we blog to help others and give back! Our blogs are not just ramblings of crazy men and women, we try to give back and help them in a number of ways though our posts. It’s a way for our readers to find out how to help their Autistic Child, How to lose weight, make healthier meal choices and lose weight, save with their budgets and so much more! We get your company that our readers have not heard of noticed and if they like them they will purchase your product. We give them a voice to be heard when they are going through different live problems to know they are NOT alone. HOWEVER, we are far from rich enough to pay $50 to $1,000 to ensure that our readers are able to see our new posts, which is where the lottery winning comes in! Large Companies or Brands are paying these amounts and more to ensure that you see their new status’s…Pssst, they still aren’t reaching all your followers or maybe it’s just me….But I doubt it highly. So your followers are not seeing all of our status’s, and could be missing out on sooooo much! I know I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it’s the reality of it, so welcome to our frustration!

In the reality of Facebook, the new changes that continue to be made have been an epic fail. It’s an epic fail for everyone that is using facebook as a whole. Companies and Brands are paying large sums to have their followers see their status’s. I’m sure a lot of them are but are they the ones who will purchase??? Bloggers being the little guys are jumping through hoops to help our readers and companies to come together but if we can’t see you are you really getting your money worth??? If you can’t see when your friend needs you the most, is it really a helpful Social Media?

What I Learned About A Blogger’s Life

girl working on computer photo Girlworkingoncomputer.jpg

In the insanity of the past couple of weeks, I learned some things, that maybe I didn’t want to realize before. I was always going full speed ahead and my schedule was always insane. Between caring for my parents, taking care of my children, cleaning the house, taking care of my grandchildren for my daughter’s, Dr’s visits, blogging and the million other things that I do. Yes, that is really just some of the things that I do, besides a long list of others that I’m leaving out so that the list is not a mile long.

I have been busy really since as long as I can remember, there is always something going on that needs my attention. However, since Thanksgiving it has been my parents that have needed me the most due to my Step-Dad being really sick. He was in and out of the hospital, and just could not feel better. So I started to take time away from Blogging to help with all their needs after Christmas, it was something that needed to be done. I was still posting just not as much as normal. Then January rolled around and it wasn’t looking good, they were going to either send my step-dad to a nursing home or home on hospice. He never wanted to go to a nursing home and I opted to bring him to my home on hospice so that I could care for him. My mom had the same flu/virus that he had so he couldn’t go home due to her being sick. So I brought him home and he was home two days before passing away. I have to say that I am happy that I brought him home to be with family and spend as much time with him as we could before he passed.

However, this really opened up some new questions for myself. While I was away taking care of family matters, I really started to think about my life, my families life, and many other aspects of our lives. It really made me think about what I wanted to do with my life and where I wanted my life and my families to go from here.

I learned that I love blogging, not that I didn’t already know that! I love my readers, your not just people in a computer to me, your just like family. I also realized even more so how much time my blogging takes me and that I spend 60-80 hours a week posting for all of you to save, get freebies, and other content that I post for you. I LOVE what I do and all of you that follow this blog each day.

So what did I really learn about a blogger’s life????

* I learned I spend to much time away from my family, but I will be making changes in that avenue.

* I LOVE what I do but I spend so much of my time doing it that it affects my family life so I again will be making changes.

* I want it all and I can have it with some simple changes to my life

* I learned that all of you are why I love my job so much, not that I didn’t already know that!

What changes will be coming????

* I will be taking weekends off from blogging so that I can spend more time with my family. So that I can spend more time with them and do more things together.

* We will be having a sister blog coming more then likely next month with a great wealth of information on so many new topics that I do not touch on with Frugal Diva Frenzy.

* I will be slowing down on how many posts are going up daily on the blog. Right now I post every half hour. I will be slowing them down BUT each post will have more deals in them then just one. This will be starting shortly. I want to give you the best content possible with Frugal Diva Frenzy and keep you all saving more. I know you will love this change that I will be making it will more then likely start tomorrow. Please feel free to comment on posts about if you like or dislike the new content.
